RECOMMENDED REMODELING PROCESS

Preparation:

If possible, assemble a portfolio of photos, magazine articles, notes etc. that you find while looking for ideas.

Draw a rough sketch of your existing room and label with approximate measurements of walls, doorways, windows etc.

Print and fill out the PRINTER FRIENDLY "Kitchen Planning Questionnaire" or Fill out the questionnaire and submit ONLINE

Contact us by phone (301-475-5041 / 301-870-2988) or email and make an appointment to discuss your project.

Visit our Showroom:

During your initial visit to our showroom, we will:

Answer any questions you might have.

Discuss your ideas.

Discuss your floor plan and go over some design ideas.

Discuss the answers you provided while filling out the "Kitchen Planning Questionnaire".

Show you the "Miller Cabinet" and explain the benefits of working with "Miller Cabinetry" during your project.

If possible, give you a tour of our manufacturing facility.

If you think you would enjoy working with us during your project:

We will visit your home and discuss your ideas and design possibilities. During this time we will take pictures and exact measurements.

We will return to our showroom and design your kitchen based on the visit to your home and the "Kitchen Planning Questionnaire".

We will contact you and make an appointment with you to return to our showroom. During this appointment, we will show you the design and provide you with a quotation.

If the quotation is within your budget, we will discuss any changes you would like to make to the design. We will then provide you with a new design based on the changes at a future date.

We will continue this process until you are comfortable with the design of your new kitchen.

When the final design is complete, we will prepare a contract to be signed by all parties involved.

The Actual Remodel:

Depending upon the scope of work detailed in the contract, Miller Cabinetmakers, you, or a subcontractor will perform the following:

  1. The existing cabinet and counters will be removed.

  2. Plumbing and/or electrical rough-in will be done.

  3. Any sheetrock, plaster, paneling, painting, wallpaper etc. will be done.

  4. Flooring work is usually done prior to the cabinet installation.

  5. The new cabinets, countertops, and appliances will be installed.

  6. Plumbing and/or electrical trim out will complete the new kitchen.
